A "Hidden Gem"

Residents discussed their appreciation for the diversity of the neighborhood, and that it's a friendly, inviting place where people know and interact with each other.

Trail Access

People typically use the trail for recreation, although for some it's a commute route and a convenient way to access popular west side destionations like the Glendale Library and teh Sorensen Community Center

Popular Events

Residents enjoy attending a number of events held throughout the year that make use of the trail and destinations near North Temple, including the Get Into the River Festival, the Tour de Brewtah, the Salt Lake County Bike Party, and the Skatenow skating/rollerblade event.

Safety and Cleanliness

Focus group participants discussed safety concerns about the Jordan River Parkway Trail, including areas that are underlit and ways to address homeless populations that congregate along the trail.

Connectivity and Wayfinding

Locating, enterint, and exiting the trail can be challenging for users who aren't already familiary with it, so focus groups talked about ways to improve connectivity and wayfinding through better signage and connecting trail gaps.

More Destinations

Community members who use the trail are enthusiastic about biking and walking in the neighborhood, but they expressed concerns about a shortage of destinations to attract new users, including a wider variety of businesses and more parks.
