Housing & Neighborhood Assessment

Students Jessica Tracy, Xiaoyang Niu, and Aahd Benchaouch assessed neighborhood housing needs and evaluated demographic data, economic characteristics and trends, current housing inventory and trends, government policies and incentives, and the adequacy and availability of housing.

North Temple Motels

Students Jon Hilton, Michael Barton, Alexis Sumner, and Elias Flores Montoya developed strategies and recommendations to mitigate issues relating to motels along North Temple that are being utilized as a shelter of last resort before homelessness. 

Evictions in the

North Temple Corridor

Students Rachel Adams, Kaylee Milliner, and Carl Shelton analyzed evictions along North Temple, existing policies, and possible policy solutions. 

Strategies to Mitigate

North Temple Homelessness

Students Chelsee Barrett, Sky Sherman, Guillermina Loyola Pelaez, and Robert Holcomb explored strategies to mitigate homelessness issues that range from homeless camps along the Jordan River to integrating permanent supporting housing into the neighborhood.

Housing Strategies 

Students Jason Binks, Vivian Chan, Abdulrahman Zaker, and Jared Syversen explored strategies to strengthen and diversify the housing market while ensuring that housing is available and accessible for lower-income residents, to improve the quality and mix of the housing stock, and to increase neighborhood population and housing density.

Students Foster Cook, Xiaokun Chen, Jimmie Gray, Nick Palmer, and Tara Tannahill explored potential sites for a North Temple (NOTE) Mural to create a sense of place and community identity.
